To the Grocery Store and Back
To the Grocery Store and Back
During my 9 - 5 in the studio it is very easy to stay inside my basement and try to get as much as I can done before it is time to pick up my son. The only way to trick myself into getting outside was to make it part of my work. I created this series as motivation to get outside, move my body, and be present in my surroundings. This particular piece was made with the materials I found on a walk from my studio to the neighborhood grocery store and back. I found weeds, grass, and a piece of plastic cord on the ground. I didn’t start this series with the intention to collect trash, but I can’t just leave it there so I figured I would include it in my paintings.
‘To the Grocery Store and Back’ showcases the abundance of color and fantastical details that can be found in nature. Contemporary and fun, but in a very sophisticated way. It will be the best excuse to bring bright bold color and JOY into your home.
This piece is not framed, but I can frame it for you or you can have it framed locally.
