Portals to the Present is a collection of work that is 3 years in the making. While I was making these paintings I was going through a life altering transformation. I went through a divorce, became a single mom, lost my dad, was displaced from the home I raised my son in, and went through major hip surgery…but through all that I kept painting. Every moment I spent creating connected me to where I was in that moment and helped me process what I was going through while also giving me a break from the chaos, which in turn helped me make decisions from a place of hope instead of fear. Each piece in the collection is a beautiful detail that was cut from a larger painting that was too chaotic, and they represent the light and the beauty that kept me on path that brought me to the present.
