Project Joy Studio is here to provide you with an incredibly unique and colorful experience!
Welcome to Project Joy Studio!
When you come for a workshop, this is what you can expect. I will greet you at the front door and bring you down into my studio where everything will be set up for you. I will tell you a little bit about how I created my technique and show you examples of what is possible and then you will be able to choose which path you would like to take based on the examples I show you.
Next you will get to test out my process on a small 5" x 7" piece. It is low stakes and you will have 2 more paintings to make afterwards so you won't feel the pressure to get it 'right' the first time. Then I will show you another technique and guide you until you feel confident enough to experiment and discover your own ideas. Most people are really hesitant at first, but after the first painting they start to generate tons of ideas and get sucked into the process!
I will also have lots of materials laid out in my 'material bar' for you to choose from. Each material creates beautiful details on your paintings as they dry! (You'll see!) You will have lots of colors to choose from and by the way, there are no brushes! I don't use brushes to make my own work, only bottles filled with color and pipettes! Everybody says it is the most calming experience!
Other things to note:
The process is not very messy even though it looks like it would be, but I would still recommend coming in something you wouldn't be upset about getting a drop of ink on.
During building hours (9-4) the door to the foyer will be open and you can come right in and let me know you are here!
Types of Workshops
Date Nights - If the show Bachelor or Bachelorette knew about Project Joy Studio they would certainly make this an activity for a date night. I have been on a few dates in my day, so I know how hard it is to find something ‘different’ to do. Trust us, this is different…and bonus, you will come away with memorable and meaningful paintings to put on your empty walls!

Corporate Team Building - We have worked with Bloom Daily Planners, URBN, and many other corporate groups to bring them a unique experience. We can come to you or you can come to the studio. We also work with a glassblower and a printmaker in the building to create an incredible all day experience! If you would like to schedule an event with Project Joy Studio we would be happy to set you up with a special group rate!

Birthday Parties | Graduation Parties - Project Joy is great for ages 2+ and is a great way to create memorable pieces of art to celebrate any occasion. We can fit up to 12 adults or 16 kids in our space, but we are happy to come to you or send you a party pack you can do wherever you are going to be! If you like we can even facetime in during your party to do a live demo and get everybody started!
We also offer the add on of creating one big painting as a group for the person who is being celebrated. As an example, for one of our graduation parties, the graduate’s group of friends and family made one 24” x 36” painting for her to have in her dorm room so she would never forget how everybody came together to celebrate her. It was a blast to see each person’s addition to the painting and it turned out so beautiful!

Camps - We have worked with Camp STEAM and local Philadelphia camps. We can come to you or you are so welcome to come to us. There are also other studios in the building I can add to your camper’s experience if you are local!
For Camp STEAM we sent out a big box with enough supplies to use science and art to make beautiful pieces of art. I personally video chatted in live from my studio to meet the kids and get them excited to try my process by showing them around my studio and telling them all about my process!
When local camps come into the studio it is a real treat! We start by gathering around my big 10’ x 10’ platform table and swinging a bowl back and forth to each other with baby bottles filled with 6 - 8 different colors of ink. Then we talk about making our own tools to paint with and break into groups to make and test out tools that we will make that day. I have a worksheet with vocabulary words and prompts to help each group through the process. In the end we have a 10’ x 10’ painting that is beautiful! To see an example, check out our about page. The giant painting I am jumping in front of was made by 52 camp kids ages 4 - 14!

Wedding Party | Baby Shower | Friends Night Out - If you have a rad group of people you would like to get together to come in for a unique experience and make some really cool art to put up on your walls, then come on over! BYOB, but for some reason most people don’t end up drinking because they get so into the experience. I can fit up to 12 adults around my 10’ x 10’ table. If you have more than 5 people you get a group rate! Create a beautiful painting with your wedding bouquet, paintings for your baby’s room, or just about anything you can think of! If you found this page and you are thinking, ‘I wish I was in Philly’, have no fear, I would be happy to create a custom kit for you to do this from afar and I will be happy to video chat with you to get you started!

Family Experience - I would love to help your family make paintings of any size for your blank walls. It is really hard to find art that matches your decor that is meaningful, unique, and within your price range. I promise I can help your family make the perfect painting(s) for your home. It will cost more than paintings at home goods, BUT it will look like it could hang in a gallery and it will be an experience you will never forget! You will be creating family heirlooms that will be passed down from generation to generation!

Cost: Cost will fluctuate based on how many pieces and what sizes you would like to make. You can have up to 12 people participate in your family experience. I had a family get together and make a beautiful piece for a lovely lady who was about to start college. She was able to hang up her painting in her room and be reminded of all the people who love her while she was away at college.
