Why they love Project Joy

I've been twice, and both times have been a blast. It's so fun to play with the inks and paper, and just see what happens. Sometimes I'd get nervous that what I was making wasn't very nice looking, but Jessica was incredibly encouraging (she'd notice little details and get very excited) and also offered practical things I could do to make it look better. In the end, I have a couple of amazing pieces of art that I can't wait to hang on my wall. It's incredibly affordable for a date or night with friends... and way more unique than one of those wine and paint studios! :)

I've attended two of JJL's workshops and have really enjoyed them both.  The first time, my four-year-old daughter was with me and she was *totally* into it.  Jessica did a great job providing guidance for my daughter while still allowing her individual creative process evolve.  The second time, I brought my friend and we had a great time creating our pieces while chit-chatting with the other attendees.  The atmosphere was very welcoming, open, and encouraging. My friend, who does not think she is very creative or artistic, ended up really getting into the process and letting her creativity emerge.  I think she surprised herself. I picked up my pieces a few days later and now they are framed and hanging in my living room! Yay art!

This was my first time trying my hand at ink painting so I wasn't sure what to expect.  The studio itself is great, very spacious and comfortable. Jessica is a terrific instructor, showing you the basics but really encouraging you to let go and "let it happen."  I highly recommend this 2 hour session for anyone interested in learning something new and fun. The great service by Jessica goes beyond your 2 hours together as she is willing to laser cut the print into any shapes you want and send them to you afterwards.
